Welcome...and thank you for coming to my end of year exhibition!

Please relax, help yourself to some refreshments, and simply scroll down, taking your time to explore the 42 pieces shown on this site.

The work is being sold to raise funds for my upcoming project, which is the establishment of a second Earth Heal base next year in Alagoas, Brazil.

By buying a piece of original art this festive season for yourself or someone special, directly from the artist, you sidestep gallery fees (which double the price of the work) and at the same time support a very good cause! For more info about me, go to this
link.

The pieces are arranged in 5 sections, compiled into index pages below. To view detailed photographs and information, simply scroll down, or click on the links next to the index pages to view specific works.

Double clicking on the photographs of individual pieces will zoom in for a very detailed look at each piece. If you would like to purchase one of these artworks, just leave a message on the "comments" links anywhere on the site, which are e-mailed directly to me, or send me me an e-mail.

This website will be updated with additional works of art being added to the collection regularly over the next couple of months. If you would like to be informed about new postings via e-mail, please leave a comment on the site or e-mail me.

Collection/shipping of artwork: If you are in Cape Town, arrangements can be made to collect the piece directly from me in person. Because most of these are unframed works on paper (unless otherwise stated), they are also easy and relatively inexpensive to ship anywhere in the world. For those wishing to pay via credit card, and to ensure security for buyers overseas or in SA during online transactions, I make use of an escrow service known as THIRT, which holds the payment in trust, while the buyer inspects and confirms the merchandise. Once the buyer is satisfied, THIRT releases the payment to the seller.

Thank you for taking the time to be here. Though I am not working as an artist at this time, it is wonderful for me to be able to share this era of my life with you. If you are not able to buy an artwork, but would like to support Earth Heal through this site, please click on the Adgoogle links at the top of the page. Google pays a small amount for each hit on an ad link....and it all adds up!

Wishing you many blessings over the festive period and for the coming year.

With love
Edna

D. The Harbour Series

This series of charcoal drawings and etchings/monoprints was made during the course of 1989, when most of my time away from my studio was spent in the old Cape Town Harbour, helping to prepare a little sailing boat for an ocean-crossing to Brazil. I had the opportunity to observe the changing light in the harbour at various times of the day and night and in all sorts of weather, and was fascinated with the way the structures stood still and strong in the harbour, and the in the midst of the roaring winds and tumultuous storms of the Cape.

The completion of this series of works coincided with the final preparations for the trip, and waiting only for Nelson Mandela’s release from prison, we set off in a roaring South Easter in the direction of Brazil in early February 1990, and continued sailing for two years, eventually completing four ocean crossings and covering almost 40 000 nautical miles….but that is a story for another time!
